Sumit Rai

I founded Cancer Check Labs because I lost my younger sister to cancer. Her battle with the disease was heartbreaking and watching her suffer and ultimately lose her fight made me realize how important early detection is in the fight against cancer. This devastating experience fueled my passion to create a company focused on advancing cancer detection, with the goal of helping others catch cancer in its earliest stages, when it’s most treatable. Through my work, I hope to honor my sister's memory by providing tools that can save lives and prevent others from experiencing the same pain.
Cancer is a completely indiscriminate disease, and it affects people from all walks of life. Witnessing the pain caused by this illness fuels my determination to help others facing the same battle.

As the President and Founder of Cure Sonia, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity, I am committed to funding cancer research at esteemed institutions such as City of Hope, Stanford, MD Anderson, and USC. Additionally, we provide financial assistance to under privileged families who are struggling to afford cancer treatment. Our efforts have led to the successful registration of over 10,000 bone marrow donors through 300 drives across 60 cities, helping to provide hope and support to those in need.

Denny Cahan

I founded Cancer Check Labs because of the profound loss I have experienced from cancer. One of my brothers, my mom, and my dad all died from different types of cancer. Their battles with the disease left a lasting impact on me, and through their struggles, I saw the urgent need for early detection and more accessible cancer screening. Watching them suffer through late-stage diagnoses, I realized that many cancers could be treated more effectively if caught earlier. This drove me to create a company focused on providing a cutting-edge, reliable cancer detection test, with the hope that no one else would have to endure the same painful journey of loss. My mission is to make cancer detection more accessible, accurate, and proactive, ensuring that others have a better chance at survival and a higher quality of life.

This experience has also fueled my commitment to protecting those who risk their lives for others, particularly firefighters who face a significantly higher cancer risk. As the President and Founder of Save a Firefighter, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity, our mission is to screen every firefighter in the country. Firefighters experience a cancer incidence rate three times higher than the general population, and we are determined to address this disparity. To kickstart our efforts, we are donating $2,500,000 worth of tests to launch the program with the Dallas Fire Department. Our goal is to provide essential screenings to firefighter sand ultimately help reduce their cancer risk.
